Amy Richmond, RN, MHS, CICAmy M. Richmond is an infection prevention consultant and infectious diseases nurse in St. Louis, Missouri. She began her career in Infection Prevention in a small community hospital and later was the manager of Hospital Epidemiology and Infection Prevention at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. While working at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, Amy focused on utilizing performance improvement techniques to prevent infections and promote infection control programs.
Amy is currently the co-owner of P3 Healthcare Consulting where she provides a wide range of consulting services from long term acute care to ambulatory and acute care settings. She has a BSN from Barnes College of Nursing and a Masters of Health Science from Washington University in St. Louis, MO.
Amy is an active member of APIC and is one of the authors of the APIC Guide to the Elimination of Catheter-Related Bloodstream Infections. She is currently co-chair of the APIC Education Committee and has served as APIC faculty for the EPI 201 and ambulatory care courses.
